1. Who we are
BTZ is the trading name of BODEJO TECH ZONE, a business registered in Nigeria with the Corporate Affairs Commission (registration number 9562207).

2. Data we collect
- Account data: your name, phone number, email address and password.
- KYC data: date of birth, gender, home address and Bank Verification Number (BVN).
- Transaction data: wallet funding, purchases, withdrawals, amounts, dates and status.
- Bank details for withdrawals: the bank name, account number and account name you withdraw to.
- Device and usage data: IP address, device type, browser, app version and how you use our site and app.
3. Why we use your data
- To deliver the services you ask for: airtime, data, electricity, cable TV, exam PINs and your wallet.
- To verify your identity and create your dedicated virtual account.
- To prevent and detect fraud and misuse.
- To meet our legal and regulatory duties.
- To answer your questions and resolve complaints.
- To send service messages, such as receipts, security alerts and important account updates.
4. Our legal basis
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA), we only process your data when we have a lawful reason. We rely on:
- Contract: to provide the services you sign up for.
- Legal obligation: to verify identity, keep records and report where the law requires.
- Legitimate interest: to keep BTZ secure, prevent fraud and improve our services.
- Consent: where the law needs it. You can withdraw consent at any time.
6. BVN and sensitive data
- Your BVN is encrypted when stored.
- Only a small number of authorised staff can access it, and only when needed.
- It is never displayed in full.
- We use it only to verify your identity and create your virtual account.
7. How long we keep data
We keep your data while your account is open. After that, we keep records for up to 7 years, as required by financial regulations. When we no longer need data, we delete it or make it anonymous.
8. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your data, including encryption and access controls. No system is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please keep your password and transaction PIN secret.
9. Your rights
Under the NDPA, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct data that is wrong or incomplete.
- Ask us to delete your data, where the law allows. We may need to keep some records to meet legal duties.
- Object to how we use your data.
- Ask us to restrict how we use your data.
- Receive your data in a common format (portability).
- Withdraw your consent at any time.
- Complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
